Smart Farming in Uruguay, TopXGun Drones in Wheat Protection

Uruguay is one of South America's key grain producers, with vast areas of farmland dedicated to wheat, soybeans, rice, and other crops. Like many agricultural countries, Uruguay faces the challenge of ensuring efficient and timely crop protection while keeping labor and input costs under control.

To support local farmers in meeting these challenges, TopXGun's technical experts recently visited our partner in Uruguay. Together, we carried out practical field operations using TopXGun's agricultural drones, focusing on herbicide spraying in wheat fields.

During the field operations, both FP500 and FP600 agricultural drones were deployed, each bringing unique advantages for wheat protection.

FP500 agri drone is designed for medium-scale farms and precision applications. With a 40L spraying tank, it provides high efficiency while maintaining flexible operation. Its four wind-pressure centrifugal nozzles ensure fine droplet control. FP500 is a reliable choice for farmers who need consistent performance with manageable scale.

FP600 agri drone is suitable for larger-scale operations, FP600 stands out with its 50L spraying tank and 60kg payload capacity. It supports both spraying and spreading tasks, offering greater versatility across crop management needs. FP600 is capable of covering wider areas with speed and accuracy, making it ideal for commercial farms seeking higher productivity.

As the drones soared over the wheat fields, they demonstrated the advantages of aerial application:

• Reduced labor intensity compared to manual spraying
• Minimal crop damage thanks to contact-free operations

By integrating agricultural drones into daily farming operations, Uruguayan growers are experiencing greater efficiency and reliability in crop protection.
